Qualifying session the heavy rain that fell at the end of the FP1 MotoGP San Marino 2021 session made the MotoGP racers unable to displace Maverick Vinales time record. Maverick Vinales completed a session that lasted 45 minutes at Italy's Misano circuit with a best lap time of 1 minute 32.666 seconds.

The racer nicknamed Top Gun has a slight advantage over Joan Mir for the SUZUKI ECSTAR team in second place with a time difference of 0.08 seconds. Meanwhile, it was Francesco Bagnaia who ended the FP1 session with a position behind Joan Mir.

After the green flag was flown the racers did not want to waste time. They went straight to the track. When the match just started, Ducati wildcard racer Michele Pirro immediately heated the match by grabbing first place with the best lap of 1 minute 35.476 seconds and 0.3 seconds ahead of Alex Espargaro from the Aprilia team.

Before long, Repsol Honda's proud racer Marc Marquez, displaced the record time of Ducati's Michele Pirro.

However, Marc Marquez's momentum ended when another RC213V racer from LCR Honda, Takaaki Nakagami went faster than Marc Marquez.
